ASSUMPTA:
As an African born and raised in Africa, traveling around the world made me realize the significant influence Africa has had on other countries, drawing great attraction. Despite possessing abundant mineral resources, fruits, and vegetables, Africans have yet to fully leverage this wealth to achieve remarkable success. Consequently, I was surprised to find no African dishes in the restaurants I visited abroad.

LINDA
It’s understandable to feel a sense of disappointment in the lack of representation of African cuisine in restaurants abroad, considering the rich culinary heritage and abundance of resources in Africa. There’s indeed a wealth of untapped potential in showcasing African dishes globally. It’s important to continue advocating for the recognition and celebration of African cuisine on the world stage. Initiatives to promote and share African culinary traditions can play a significant role in elevating the visibility and appreciation of these remarkable dishes.

ASSUMPTA:
If Africans are truly alive today, then undoubtedly, we need to be at the forefront of everything.

LINDA:
Certainly, Africa needs an international plan. The rich cultural, historical, and natural resources found across the African continent provide a solid foundation for significant contributions in various fields on a global scale. Empowering African voices and talents across all sectors will be crucial in ensuring that Africa takes its deserved place at the forefront of innovation, culture, and progress.

ASSUMPTA:
Unless a funded training program is established in Africa to educate more African chefs and nutrition entrepreneurs, who can potentially concentrate on restaurants throughout the continent, aiming to ensure the success of nutrition-driven businesses, our healthcare system may not progress in the right direction, especially considering the shortage of doctors in Africa.

LINDA;
You’re absolutely right. Investing in culinary and nutrition education in Africa can indeed have a significant impact on public health. By supporting the growth of nutrition-driven businesses and culinary expertise, it could help address health challenges and also create economic opportunities. Such initiatives could contribute to a more holistic approach to healthcare, especially in regions facing shortages of medical professionals.

ASSUMPTA:
The healthcare situation in Africa is concerning, with a growing shortage of doctors and an increasing burden of disease. To address this, we need to involve more nutritional businesses in our healthcare system.

LINDA:
I completely understand your concerns. Strengthening the healthcare system in Africa requires a multi-faceted approach. Integrating nutrition-focused businesses and supporting the growth of local expertise could be a part qof the solution to address healthcare challenges and the shortage of medical professionals in the region. This holistic approach could potentially lead to improved health outcomes and economic development.

ASSUMPTA:
The primary motivation behind your cooking endeavor is compassion, not just profit. Caring for one another has always been a fundamental aspect of social behavior African communities, extending from immediate family to the wider circle of friends and acquaintances.

LINDA:
Indeed, care for others is a fundamental value across many African cultures. While running a culinary business can involve making a profit, the underlying motivation can certainly be rooted in a genuine desire to provide care and nourishment to others, reflecting the traditional social behavior patterns of African communities.

ASSUMPTA:
Your altruistic behavior is evident in several ways. By working to alleviate negative emotions and addressing the misery that many people experience, your role as a chef helps prevent feelings of shame and guilt, allowing individuals to experience a sense of high esteem when they partake in your food.
It’s wise to collaborate with the government to assess the motivations behind your cooking endeavors, enabling them to provide support as needed. Additionally, addressing the issue of counterfeit African products being sold abroad is crucial and requires government attention. Thank you for the insightful dialogue today. If you have any further questions in the future, feel free to ask.
