The wise leader comprehends the past, present, and future of life. Many African leaders have come and gone without reforming the healthcare sector. However, this wise man, who understands the history of his people, has reformed the present and continues to look into the future.
William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto (born 21 December 1966) is a Kenyan politician who is the fifth and current president of Kenya since 13 September 2022. Prior to becoming president, he served as the first elected deputy president of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. Previously, holders of the position were referred to as Vice President and the officeholder was unelected and appointed by the President.[1][2][3][4] He previously served in three cabinet portfolios as the Minister for Home Affairs, the Minister of Agriculture and as Minister for Higher Education.
Early life and Education

William Ruto was born on 21 December 1966 in Sambut village, Kamagut, Uasin Gishu County, to Daniel Cheruiyot and Sarah Cheruiyot.
Ruto started his education at Kamagut Primary School, then transferred to Kerotet Primary School both situated within the Uasin Gishu County; and he sat for his Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) at the latter. He then proceeded to Wareng Secondary School, still in Uasin Gishu County, and later Kapsabet High School in Nandi County, where he obtained his Ordinary Level and Advanced Level education respectively.
He then enrolled at the University of Nairobi to pursue Botany and Zoology, graduating in 1990 with a BSc. He went on to complete an MSc in Plant Ecology, also from the University of Nairobi. The year after his graduation, he enrolled for a Ph.D. at the same university, and after several setbacks, he completed and graduated on 21 December 2018.
Ruto authored several papers, including one titled Plant Species Diversity and Composition of Two Wetlands in the Nairobi National Park, Kenya.
During his time in the campus for his undergraduate education, Ruto was an active member of the Christian Union. He also served as the Chairman of the University of Nairobi’s choir. Through his church activities at the University of Nairobi, he met President Daniel arap Moi, who would later introduce him to politics during the 1992 general elections
As of September 2021, William Ruto was the Deputy President of Kenya. He is a prominent political figure known for his active role in Kenyan politics and his involvement in various initiatives addressing economic development and social welfare. Ruto has been known for his advocacy for affordable healthcare, empowerment programs, and economic growth.
Exploring Kenya With My Life
Kenya, a country in Africa, is renowned for its stunning white sandy beaches, water nourishment that provides drinking water, plants and agriculture. Plants from this region are used to make special medicines, furniture, rubber and vibrant sunsets, yet these are not the only delights for President Ruto.

Envision a nation where Kenyans live free from the burden of colonial taxes, surrounded by the serene coastal plains, lush rainforests, diverse wildlife, tropical waterfalls, and picturesque swamps.

Born and raised in Kenya, President Ruto’s senses were awakened by life in Kenya and the intricate patterns created by nature to safeguard everything within it, including its people. His conviction that life in Kenya should be protected and cared for has inspired him to advocate for an affordable healthcare plan for all Kenyans.

ASSUMPTA:
Imagine a place where plants and animals live undisturbed by people, a natural reserve created to protect the forest and all its inhabitants.

RUTO:
Yes, Kenya is known for its wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, including the famous Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, and many others. These areas are vital for the conservation of wildlife, including iconic species such as lions, elephants, giraffes, and rhinos.

ASSUMPTA:
“If the pattern of life demonstrates a carefulness in protecting everything within it, why can’t human beings observe and do the same?”

RUTO:
The pattern of life often demonstrates a careful balance and protection of its surroundings, but humans, due to various reasons such as individual desires, societal pressures, and lack of understanding, sometimes struggle to observe and maintain the same level of care. However, I and my administration are striving to encourage greater empathy and responsibility toward our environment and all Kenyans.

ASSUMPTA:
The first six lower worlds are: Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity, and Rapture. These six lower worlds have resulted in behaviours characterised by egoism, seemingly preventing individuals from caring for one another.

RUTO:
It seems like you’re referencing Buddhist cosmology, particularly the Six Realms of Existence. The first six lower worlds are: Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity and Rapture. These six lower worlds arise automatically from within our lives in response to external surroundings.
These realms are part of the cycle of samsara, representing different states of existence based on one’s karma and actions. The realms often illustrate the nature of existence and how our actions can lead to different states of being.
The ideas you’ve pressed can be rephrased “The way nature protects its forests and inhabitants reflects the care for life in every country. Healthcare, aimed at ensuring citizens’ well-being and alleviating suffering, is rooted in moral or natural norms, akin to what we observe in nature’s reserves. However, for various reasons, Muammar Gaddafi was killed by American forces, despite his efforts to provide healthcare for his people.”

When comparing the per capita income of $2000 a year in Cuba to $22,500 a year in America, one might question what is flawed within the American system.

RUTO:
Indeed, the vast difference in per capita income between Cuba and the United States raises questions about income inequality and the distribution of wealth within the American system. This comparison can lead to discussions about economic policies, social welfare, education, and opportunities for upward mobility. The disparity in income levels often prompts debates on the fairness and effectiveness of the economic and social structures within the United States.
The United States of America has never sought to make internal amendments but has consistently exhibited a compulsive behaviour to dominate, which is why they have been involved in actions such as the destruction of Nicaragua and Grenada, as well as being implicated in the demise of Kwame Nkrumah. This stems from their perception that any country that aims to provide for all its people or seeks to escape the control of America or its corporations will face destruction.

ASSUMPTA:
“I believe there’s something troubling within the American psyche that haunts them. They don’t perceive it as an illness, but rather sometimes see it as a meaningful force to help them achieve their goals, instead of engaging in dialogue.”

RUTO:
There have been few instances where the powerful nation of America has never experienced prolonged periods of complete harmony. In the case of African slaves brought to America, they were considered second-class. Over time, while whites have been welcomed and honoured as representatives of the country, unfortunately, the situation for black Americans has not significantly improved, and they continue to face mistreatment.
The absence of racial harmony in the United States is of significant importance as it strongly influences American international politics and has a notable impact on the politics of other African nations as well. The frontier spirit and the biases associated with it have indeed influenced the United States, often leading to the magnification of its mistakes in the realm of international politics. It could be argued that the United States was compelled to relinquish the frontier spirit, particularly in its approach to Southern Asia.

ASSUMPTA :
The United States’ approach had significant consequences in Vietnam and led to conflict between the president and Congress over Cambodia. However, in your context, ensuring that all Kenyans have access to affordable healthcare presents a different scenario altogether.

RUTO
“I am proud to be African and believe in the inherent rights of all Africans, despite the perception of superiority from America. I am fortunate to be Kenyan, where I learned the art of bargaining from my parents, recognizing that we are custodians of the world’s largest natural resource reserves.”

ASSUMPTA
It’s wonderful to hear about your pride in being African and the rich natural resources that the continent possesses. It’s important to recognize and celebrate the diverse cultures and resources across the African continent. As with any region, it’s crucial to ensure that these resources are managed responsibly for the benefit of all.
I am truly inspired by your strength and wisdom, and the path you have taken is without Short-Term profit goals but on policies that foster Self-Respect, dignity, confidence, and pride. Thank you for your leadership and for treating others with respect. It’s been wonderful engaging in today’s dialogue.
