Unleashing My Creativity: The Woman Who Brought Beauty to Her Neighborhood
Gwen, the CEO of Hair Senta, a hair extension specialist, has made her salon a beacon of beauty and inspiration in her community. For Gwen, Hair Senta is more than just a business; it’s a creative sanctuary where she returns to find balance amidst life’s ups and downs.

Gwen-Addo
“I believe that I am naturally blessed with artistic abilities and creative ingenuity, which has meaningfully contribute to my personal, professional, and social endeavours,”
This innate creativity has been the driving force behind my success and the positive impact I have had on my neighbourhood.
My passion for all forms of art, craftsmanship, and human greatness continuously fuels my curiosity and fascination with the world. Whether it’s in creative design, music, poetry, fashion, architectural marvels, or scenic nature, my unbounded and dynamic artistic process allows me to explore and express my creativity in myriad ways.

“My artistry reflects in my ability to convey emotions, ideas, and messages through various mediums such as speeches, writing, or any other form of creative expression,” This liberty of artistic expression, with its distinctive styles, techniques, and creative choices, brings my visions to life.

In my salon, my key responsibility involves more than just styling hair. I take the time to explain to my customers the purpose behind each stylish hair design and provide details about the materials used. My unique ability to develop themes and create hairstyles helps me visually portray ideas and brand personality through art and images.

Life is full of challenges, but I find solace and motivation in my work. Each time a customer walks in with concerns about their hair, I see an opportunity to transform not only their appearance but also their outlook on life. By dressing their hair, I help them rediscover their confidence and joy.
I have never lost sight of my identity, thanks to the connections I build with my customers. When I feel discouraged, it is the gratitude and transformation of my clients that remind me of my purpose and direction in life. Hair Senta and its patrons serve as
my compass, guiding me through difficult times and encouraging me to move forward with confidence.
By unleashing my creativity, I have brought beauty and hope to my neighbourhood, proving that true artistry lies in the ability to uplift and inspire others.
Unleashing My Creativity: The Woman Who Brought Beauty to Her Neighborhood
TSASI : Good morning, Gwen. I can’t believe it—you’re the CEO and the hair stylist of Hair Senta, unleashing your inner creativity just by embracing your customers.

Gwen : Good morning! Yes, that’s right. It’s all about connecting with people and expressing creativity in ways that resonate with them.

TSASI : I never saw myself as creative because I couldn’t draw or paint, but I’m starting to understand from your perspective that creativity comes in different ways. I love reading and writing, but I didn’t really see writing as being creative. I also love to cook, but again, I didn’t see that as being creative until my sister told me her mind did not conceive flavours and dishes as mine did.

Gwen : You concluded you weren’t creative because of how you defined creativity, and I know you are not alone. Most of us look down on what we are capable of because we compare ourselves to other people’s capabilities rather than realising capability looks different for each person.

TSASI : That makes a lot of sense. I’ve always thought of creativity in such narrow terms.

Gwen : Exactly. A quote by Albert Einstein says, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Creativity is the elusive spark that ignites innovation and infuses life with beauty, but more importantly, it is a power that’s within each of us.

TSASI : So, creativity isn’t just for artists and inventors?

Gwen : Not at all. We often think it’s limited to the realm of artists and inventors, but it’s not. Creativity makes every facet of our lives better—from the technology that helps us move and keeps us entertained to those used for education and cooking. Creativity is behind every idea that becomes a reality.

TSASI: So, how can we unleash our inner creativity and embrace the art of possibilities?

Gwen : As Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is intelligence and having fun.” At its core, creativity is intelligence at play. It’s about exploring, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries of what’s known and familiar. Creativity isn’t just about painting masterpieces or inventing groundbreaking technologies; it’s about infusing everyday tasks with a sense of wonder and novelty.

TSASI : That sounds liberating. Can you give an example from your work?

Gwen : Absolutely. Styling my customers’ hair brings them to life for me as I am constantly researching and thinking about what hairstyle I can do differently to make my customers look beautiful and happy. Keeping the process fun means there are no mistakes in my hair salon. Every mistake gives me a chance to think differently and change course to bring joy and happiness back.

TSASI : So, mistakes are part of the creative process?

Gwen: Yes, they are. Mistakes are opportunities in disguise. They push you to think outside the box and come up with new solutions. That’s the beauty of creativity—it’s dynamic and ever-evolving.

TSASI: I love that perspective. It makes the whole process of creativity seem more approachable and less intimidating.

Gwen : Exactly. Embracing creativity is about allowing yourself to have fun, experiment, and not be afraid of making mistakes. That’s how we grow and bring beauty and innovation into the world.
Collaborate and Inspire: Bringing “Hair Senta” to Life;
I’ve shared my recipe ideas with you all because I believe in our collective ability to realise the “Hair Senta” vision. While the initial idea may come from me, it’s through our collaboration and exchange of ideas that true innovation happens.
Remember, you don’t always have to execute every idea on your own. Our combined creativity can turn a spark into a blaze of innovation. So, let’s continue to spread our creativity and inspire each other.

Tsasi: Thanks for sharing your experience. Now I know we were created to be creative so let our light shine.
That’s such an inspiring way to look at it. Thank you for sharing your insights, Gwen. You’ve really opened my eyes to the many forms creativity can take.

Gwen : You’re welcome, TSASI. Remember, creativity is about embracing your unique abilities and expressing them in your own way. That’s what brings beauty to the world.
