Will Ghana Rise above Tribalism?
Who is a patriot?

Ghanaian Patriots were Ghanaians who voted for the NPP party to opposed the then NDC party during the 2016 election.
Ghanaians who vigorously love their country prepared to defend against the enemies. “Now, who will protect the citizens such as these good people? Who will work for their happiness?
We are all human beings and deserve to be treated with respect. And since the NPP is a party for peace and prosperity, then we are all equal in the eyes of the leaders.

What exactly does it mean to be a patriot?

TSASI
For many, being considered a patriot is by definition, it means “one who loves and supports his or her country. Calling the NPP a “patriotic party” brings with it a higher level of pride and respect, putting the party on the same level with the founders of this country who are seen as the original patriots.
The NPP is a party that brings unification and joy, but the NDC wants to make it look like a party that divides and excludes people.

It has been every opposition party’s role to deliberately inspire hatred and division.
‘Of all the problems which arise in the course of politics, Why should one be patriotic?

TSASI
We all believe in a kind of sense of identity as humans. Patriotism and love towards one’s country is what our rulers use to keep the people of Gold Coast united. Not an unfair one of today that NDC only gives Ghanaians a sense of insecurity and division.
A Ghanaian today thinks he or she is a catholic, pentecostal or a NDC, who is not proud of his land unless Jesus comes or NDC wins elections.
But whether we like it or not, these lost of patriotic spirit for our country are result of geo-political changes over several years ago by those Western establishment who destroyed the Native American culture killed them just because they wat to build roads and houses and collect taxes, were the same who overthrow Kwame Nkrumah and believe me, no land is specially chosen by any God to be a better place unless we the citizens who live on that land.

Indeed. When we express love with our motherland, most actually it means loving the people you know, your relatives, parents, colleagues, friends and the sense of identity with the unknown sharing the same identity.

In today’s Ghana, movements are organized around the perception that NPP as party for the Ashantis, and that Northerners can’t lead the NPP party or were threat Ghanaian values. We’re seeing stupid language of the enemy being used in ways to mark Ghanaians as enemies to one another.

The “us vs. them” attitude is unpatriotic. It would continue into the new century if we allow it. A patriot should have a clear idea of what that means and what it means to not be a patriot. This is a word that is really conditioned by what our set of values is and what we think we’re fighting for.

TSASI:
I set the theme “Ghanaians First” for Ghanaians to take advantage of the idea that the conditions set to elect our first democratic leader to lead us in the cause of our independence and build a prosperous Ghana was an active effort by yourselves. Which means most of you are patriots who had the commitment that prevented colonialism from diving you.

“The word patriot is frequently exploited by people that want to take advantage of this idea of yuor love for Ghana. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do good for your country, but when that passion is corrupted that is taking good intentions and corrupting them for the purpose of doing harm.

TSASI
The Time of the First Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah.
We can find the origins of Ghana in the relationship of mentor and disciple that evident in Akufo Addo’s government and that of Nkrumah’s government. As Nkrumah exerted himself to build a better Ghana, so is Akufo Addo too.
Tje only choice left for us, is to look for remedy, taking a long, sympathetic look at ourselves to see how we are divided.
Thank you AssumptaGH
