What is Brics?

Brics stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa and represents a coalition between the 5 leading emerging economies in the world. These countries were initially identified for investment opportunities for the west but since 2009 they started annual meetings to discuss strategies and policies.
This is something Western Nations have been doing with G7 for decades. The group of 7 consists mainly of Western nations with Japan as the outsider.

Why was Africa never quoted to be part of that G7?

Even though Africa is the preeminent resource provider it has never been invited to the G7 meetings. For Africa to transform this anguish, the Brics Nations is about to transform our suffering into joy.
June is the birth month of founding Soka Gakkai President Tsunesaburo Makiguchi. He once said: “The most important thing in life is to have a clear sense of purpose. This cannot be achieved without faith.”
This was a warning to us not to be swept away by the turbulent storms of life and lose sight of the goal of happiness for ourselves and others.
Mr. Makiguchi also said: “Self-negation is a lie. What is right is to seek happiness for both oneself and everyone else.”
He denounced the evil of self-negation leading to self-sacrifice in an age dominated by militaristic values that prioritised the nation over the individual.
The ultimate purpose that Mr. Makiguchi stressed was the happiness of both self and others. In other words, it is not solely about one’s own happiness, nor is it solely about the happiness of others. Everyone becoming happy together is the Buddhist concept of happiness.

Indeed, like doctors perform surgery, the Brics have announced the New Development Bank Contingent Reserve Arrangement for Brics payment system and Brics Basket Reserve currency which are direct competitors to the G7, because their plans are clearly laying a foundation for separation from the US dollar, Euro, and British pound on mass.

Indeed, the day that happens any African country that is part of the Brics coalition would be well on their way to financial liberation from the shackles of debts and weak exchange rates.

If there is anything in this world which is trustworthy, then it is a fact proved by the Brics Nations. No matter the age we live in, establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land means everyone awakening to their unlimited potential and overcoming “this one evil” within. The Brics coalition movement to give courage and hope and financial liberation is a way by sharing the philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism is based on this teaching.
“If you care anything about your personal security, you should first of all pray for order and tranquillity throughout the four quarters of the land, should you not?” (WND-1, 24)

In an unhappy world, is it enough to seek happiness only for ourselves?

Isn’t our individual happiness profoundly linked not only to those around us but also to the peace and prosperity of society?
In this passage, Nichiren cautions against ignoring the sufferings of others or the state of the world. Rather, he teaches that the purpose of Buddhism is to contribute to peace “throughout the four quarters of the land.” It is, in fact, through taking such actions that we create genuine happiness for ourselves.
Every revolution starts from the human revolution of a single individual. In our world today, many countries have suffered one disaster after another. More and more people yearned for happiness somewhere far away from the real world. But we can’t find real happiness and security by running away from where we are now. The only solution is to find a philosophy that can help us become strong and secure in our hearts and minds.
Nichiren, therefore, urges us to quickly “reform the tenets,” or beliefs, we hold in our hearts that keep us from valuing ourselves or seeing the dignity and inherent potential that exist in all people. The Lotus Sutra teaches that everyone has a Buddha nature. To embrace the “single good doctrine [of the Lotus Sutra],” therefore, is to believe that we have the Buddha nature.
And with that belief, we take full responsibility for our lives, transforming our environment and making it the stage of our own happiness.
When we awaken to the Buddha nature in our lives, our immediate environment“the threefold world” shines as a Buddha land. By working to realise peace and security in our society, every one of us can lead a meaningful and happy life. Our prayers and actions toward this end create ripple effects that impact our friends and help us expand our network of happiness.
