“It is not merely about personal well-being but guiding and uplifting those around us. To live with dignity means leading others in the right direction.”
True wellness extends beyond self-care—it is a shared journey. As Kente weaving aligns each thread with purpose, our lives should be woven with acts of kindness, integrity, and leadership.
When we embrace dignity, we do not walk alone. We inspire, uplift, and guide others, ensuring that our collective path leads toward goodness, harmony, and truth.
Take Me In The Good Direction: The Essence of Kente Wellness
Dignity is at the heart of Kente Wellness, passed down through generations like the intricate weaving of Kente cloth. True wellness extends beyond self-care—it is about uplifting others, fostering harmony, and creating a collective path toward goodness.
We do not live in isolation. Our lives are intertwined with our families, friends, and communities. When we live with dignity, we inspire others to move in the right direction, shaping a world that values truth and balance.
Much like the art of Kente weaving, where coloured threads align in harmony, guided by a wooden stick, our efforts should propel us toward goodness and happiness. This intentional process ensures balance, unity, and beauty—both in fabric and in life.
Introduction: Take Me In The Good Direction:
In a world where truth is often overshadowed by politics and fiction, finding the right path requires clarity, dignity, and purpose. Joselyn Dumas, a trailblazing actress and TV presenter, has consistently championed truth over sensationalism, setting her apart in the industry. Her authenticity and integrity are unmatched, making her a guiding light in today’s media landscape.
Like the coloured ropes in Kente weaving, our lives must be aligned with values that propel us forward in harmony. Each thread contributes to the greater whole, just as our choices shape the communities we live in. When we lead with dignity and truth, we create a world where goodness prevails.
On Thursday, 20th March 2025, Joselyn Dumas will sit down with the tough-minded Cookieteegh for a compelling dialogue on truth, dignity, and the power of leading others in the right direction. This is more than a conversation—it’s a call to action to live with purpose and integrity.
All our Efforts Should Serve to Propel Us Toward Goodness and Happiness
Every action we take should guide us toward a life of harmony, dignity, and truth. Just as in Kente weaving, where each coloured thread aligns perfectly, propelled forward by a wooden stick to create a masterpiece, so too must our efforts be intentional and purposeful.
When we dedicate ourselves to goodness and happiness, we uplift not only ourselves but also those around us. True fulfilment is not found in isolation but in the way we lead, inspire, and nurture our communities.
By embracing this mindset, we weave a life of balance, unity, and purpose—just like the timeless art of Kente Wellness.
Weaving Dignity, Harmony, and Goodness: A Call to Lead with Integrity
All our efforts should serve to propel us toward goodness and happiness. Every action we take should be guided by harmony, dignity, and truth—not just for our well-being, but for the upliftment of those around us.
Much like Kente weaving, where each coloured thread aligns in perfect harmony, propelled forward by a wooden stick to create a masterpiece, our lives should be woven with intention and purpose. When we commit ourselves to goodness and happiness, we do not walk alone—we lead, inspire, and nurture our communities, creating a fabric of balance, unity, and dignity.
History teaches us the power of such leadership. Kwame Nkrumah, the architect of Ghana’s independence, saw the oppressive system that held his people back. Despite fierce opposition from imperialists who resisted change, he fought tirelessly to bring dignity, goodness, and happiness to Ghanaians. His leadership was not for personal gain—it was to weave a nation built on truth and progress.
Yet today, the very people who once benefited from Nkrumah’s vision—young Ghanaians who grew up under his legacy—have taken a different path. Instead of uplifting the nation and guiding it toward truth, harmony, and dignity, many of them deceive and mislead their people. The essence of goodness has faded, replaced by self-interest and dishonesty.
How difficult has it become for our leaders to believe in themselves and in the people they serve? Where is the faith in our collective strength? Kente weaving teaches us that each thread has a purpose—no strand stands alone. To reclaim our dignity, we must re-align ourselves with truth, harmony, and the responsibility to guide others toward goodness.
It is not too late to weave a new future—one where integrity, dignity, and the spirit of Nkrumah once again propel us in the right direction.

Assumpta Weekly Magazine Presents: A Dialogue on Dignity and Leadership
Featuring Joselyn Dumas & Cookieteegh
Scene: A Thoughtful Encounter
Opening Exchange – Respectful Introductions
Cookieteegh:
Madam Joselyn Dumas, it is an honour to share this space with you. Your work in media and advocacy speaks volumes, and today, as we weave our thoughts together, I trust that truth and dignity will take their rightful place in our dialogue.
Joselyn Dumas:
The honour is mine, Cookieteegh. Your name carries weight—firm, fearless, and unyielding in the pursuit of clarity. Conversations such as this are rare, yet necessary, especially in times when the air is thick with disillusionment. I look forward to the wisdom we will uncover today.
A Nation in Mourning – The Loss of Goodness
Cookieteegh:
Ghana is grieving, Joselyn. Not merely for the passing of time, nor for the loss of those whose names were once written in history. No. Ghana is mourning the fading presence of people of goodness—those who once stood firm in the face of adversity, whose mere existence served as a compass for integrity and truth.
We have lost not just leaders, but guides. Not just elders, but wisdom itself. The threads of dignity that once held this nation together are unravelling, and I fear we are standing by, watching it happen.
Joselyn, why did you choose the article titled: “Take Me In a Good Direction”?
Joselyn Dumas: Because in today’s world, where truth is often blurred by politics, power, and personal interest, finding the right direction has become more difficult than ever. “Take Me In a Good Direction” is more than just a title—it’s a call to action. It’s about choosing dignity over deception, integrity over compromise, and leading others toward goodness and harmony. Just like the weaving of Kente, every thread matters. If one thread is misaligned, the entire fabric suffers. The same applies to society—if our values are compromised, the entire nation loses its dignity.
Cookieteegh: That’s deep. But don’t you think people today are more focused on personal success rather than collective well-being?
Joselyn Dumas: Absolutely. And that’s the real problem. We’ve lost the essence of community, the idea that my success is tied to yours. Look at our history—Kwame Nkrumah didn’t fight for himself; he fought to lift an entire nation. He saw oppression and said, ‘No, Ghana deserves better.’ But today, many of our leaders have abandoned that vision. They care about power, not purpose. That’s why we must remind ourselves that true success isn’t just personal—it’s about guiding others in the right direction.
Cookieteegh: That’s powerful. But how do we get back to that mindset? How do we realign our threads, so to speak?
Joselyn Dumas: It starts with honesty. With truth. We must stop lying to ourselves and to our people. We have to lead with dignity, not deceit. When you look at Kente weaving, you see order, precision, and balance. Every thread follows a pattern, creating something beautiful. That’s how life should be—structured around values that propel us toward goodness. If we want change, we have to start by being accountable, by aligning ourselves with truth, and by ensuring that those who follow us are walking in the right direction.
Cookieteegh: So, you believe leadership is about setting an example?
Joselyn Dumas: Absolutely! It’s not just about holding positions of power. Everyone is a leader in some way. Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, or a friend, you influence those around you. The question is: are you leading them toward goodness or corruption? When we live with dignity, we create a ripple effect—just like a skilled Kente weaver ensures that each thread contributes to the final masterpiece. If we embrace that mindset, we can rebuild our nation, our values, and our future.
Cookieteegh: I love that. So, if there’s one message you want people to take from this article, what would it be?
Joselyn Dumas: We all have a responsibility to take ourselves—and those around us—in the right direction. It’s never just about ‘me.’ It’s about ‘us.’ Because when we move together in harmony, just like a well-woven Kente cloth, we create something strong, something meaningful, something beautiful. I feel this loss in the very fabric of our society. It is in the way we speak, the choices we make, and the paths we follow. We have become a people too easily swayed—by deception, by greed, by convenience.
Dignity, once the foundation of our identity, is now a relic, admired from afar but seldom lived. We speak of greatness, yet our actions betray our words. Have we truly lost our way? Or have we simply abandoned the map?
Cookieteegh:
That is the very question. The Kente cloth of our moral fabric is fraying. We have replaced the weavers of truth with merchants of falsehood. And yet, Joselyn, I wonder… is it too late to reclaim what we have lost?
Joselyn Dumas:
It is never too late. The art of Kente teaches us this—one misaligned thread does not ruin the entire weave. With patience, with intention, we can realign ourselves. But we must first recognize our failure. We must acknowledge that we have glorified the wrong things—power over service, wealth over wisdom, fame over integrity.
Cookieteegh:
And in doing so, we have betrayed our ancestors. Nkrumah fought not for himself, but for the people. He wove a dream of unity, of progress, of dignity. But look around, Joselyn. Today, many of those who inherited his vision have torn it apart. They do not guide—they mislead. They do not serve—they exploit.
Joselyn Dumas:
And yet, the spirit of our people has not perished. Not entirely. The embers of goodness still glow, faint as they may seem. Some still believe in truth and still choose dignity over deception. But they cannot stand alone, Cookieteegh. Just as Kente is woven thread by thread, dignity must be restored person by person. This is why we must speak, why we must act.
A Call to Action – Reweaving the Fabric of Dignity
Cookieteegh:
Then let us speak, Joselyn. Not just to each other, but to those who will listen. Let this conversation be more than words. Let it be a call to reclaim what we have lost. To stand once more with purpose. Choose the right direction, even when the wrong one is easier.
Joselyn Dumas:
To those listening, to those reading—know this: dignity is not a thing of the past. It is not an artefact to be admired from behind glass. It is a living force, waiting to be embraced once more. You are not powerless. You are not voiceless. Align yourself with truth, and others will follow. That is how we weave a new future.
(A moment of silence. A nod of understanding.)
Cookieteegh:
Then let us begin the weaving.
