An Inside Look: Kit Malthouse’s Statement on Justice and Accountability
British MP Kit Malthouse has sparked global discussion with his bold statement on the injustices unfolding in Palestine. His words cut through the political silence, raising urgent questions about international law, human rights, and the role of world leaders in enabling or preventing oppression.
Malthouse did not hold back when he stated:
“The Israelis are demolishing buildings in Jenin with people still inside them, and the President of the United States is openly contemplating the forced transfer of Palestinians. First of all, are Arabs, particularly Palestinians, entitled to the same protections under international law as everyone else?
Secondly, do we still affirm our support for UN Security Council Resolution 3236, which guarantees Palestinians safety, security, and sovereignty in their land?
And if that is the case, when will U.S. President Donald Trump stop talking about forcibly transferring Palestinians to neighbouring countries and take concrete steps to enforce these matters in law?”
His statement raises three critical points:

- Are Palestinians Truly Protected Under International Law?
If human rights are universal, why do Palestinians continue to suffer under occupation, forced displacement, and systemic violence? Why is justice selective? - The Role of UN Resolutions – Are They Just Words?
UN Security Council Resolution 3236 explicitly affirms Palestinian sovereignty, yet global powers continue to ignore it. If international law is meant to uphold justice, why is it not enforced? - The U.S. and the Forced Transfer of Palestinians
The idea of forcibly transferring an entire population is a direct violation of human rights and international law. Yet, discussions of such policies persist at the highest levels of power.
Why Malthouse’s Words Matter

In a world where many politicians remain silent or complicit, Kit Malthouse’s statement is a rare instance of truth-telling from within the system. His words challenge not only Israel’s policies but also the role of the U.S. in enabling these actions.
But will his statement lead to real change, or will it be buried under political manoeuvring and media distortion?
This inside look at Malthouse’s statement forces us to ask:
Are we willing to confront the uncomfortable truths of our time? Or will we allow history to repeat itself, as oppression continues under the guise of diplomacy?
The time for silence is over. The world must demand justice—before it is too late.
Introduction: A World on the Brink
The world stands at a crossroads. From the rubble of Jenin to the farmlands of displaced communities, from the battlefields of Sudan to the silent cries in Gaza, injustice echoes through the corridors of power—met with indifference, silence, and betrayal.

For too long, the powerful have rewritten history, justifying occupation, war, and genocide under the pretence of security. The media, once a pillar of truth, has become a tool of deception, distorting reality and burying the voices of the oppressed. Meanwhile, leaders preach democracy while contemplating the forced displacement of entire populations.
But the tides are shifting. More people are beginning to question, to resist, and to demand answers. This newsletter is not just about exposing these injustices—it is a call to action, a declaration that silence is no longer an option.
Through the words of British MP Kit Malthouse, the harrowing reality of Zionist expansion, the failures of Arab unity, and the relentless distortion of truth by Western media, we uncover the patterns of oppression that have persisted for decades. But beyond the suffering, we also share stories of resilience—stories like that of MBelle, a young girl determined to fight for justice in the Book yet to be published : “I Will Always Be By Your Side”.

The struggle for truth, dignity, and peace is far from over. But together, we can shape a new future where justice is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.
Prologue: The Silent War Against Truth
They say the victors write history. But what happens when those victors are also the oppressors, the deceivers, the architects of suffering?

For decades, a war has been waged—not just on the battlefields, but in the narratives that shape our understanding of the world. A war fought with words, with propaganda, with silence. It is a war that erases the cries of the Palestinian child buried under the rubble, that justifies the bulldozer crushing homes in Jenin, that rationalizes the exile of an entire people as “security policy.”
It is a war in which the most powerful nation on Earth contemplates the unthinkable—the forced transfer of Palestinians—while the world watches, hesitates, and moves on.
This war does not just target Palestinians. It targets the very foundations of truth. It seeks to erase, to rewrite, to distort. And for too long, it has succeeded. But every war has its resistance. And in resistance, there is hope.
This newsletter is part of that resistance. It is an attempt to shine a light on the shadows of deception, to challenge the narratives that serve only the powerful, and to remind the world that justice is not dead—it is only waiting for us to fight for it. The pages ahead will explore these uncomfortable truths. The silence that allows them to persist. And the voices—like MBelle’s—that refuse to be silenced.
Because truth cannot be buried forever.
The Silent War: A Betrayal of Justice

For years, the world has watched in silence. Buildings were reduced to rubble lives shattered, and entire communities erased—all under the guise of security and self-defence. Now, a British MP has spoken out, raising critical questions that demand answers.
Kit Malthouse, a Conservative Party politician and MP for North West Hampshire since 2015, did not mince words when he said:
History Repeats Itself—Unless We Change It

For decades, the world has seen a pattern—genocide justified, occupations excused, and suffering ignored. Zionist forces have long used Hamas as a scapegoat, framing their actions as necessary for security while systematically displacing and brutalizing Palestinians.
Yet, the real question is: Why has the Arab world failed to unite against these injustices?
The absence of a strong moral and strategic alliance among Arab nations has allowed these actions to continue unchecked. Instead of forging a united front, internal divisions and political hesitations have left the Palestinian people vulnerable. Meanwhile, alliances with Western powers, particularly the United States, remain dictated by economic and political interests rather than a shared commitment to justice.
And so, the cycle continues—scandals, genocide, and the erasure of a people.
The Role of Media: A Tool for Deception
The United States, often hailed as a beacon of democracy, has a news media that has betrayed its people. Across newspapers, television, and online platforms, the narrative is controlled, distorted, and manipulated.
Public opinion is shaped not by truth but by carefully crafted propaganda—one that demonizes the oppressed while justifying the oppressor. From headlines in The Washington Post to television segments on major networks, the Palestinian struggle is rewritten, reframed, and suppressed.
This is not journalism. This is an assault on truth.
A Story of Resistance:
I Will Always Be By Your Side
But resistance is not just found on the battlefield—it is found in the courage of those who refuse to be silenced, those who fight for justice, and those who dream of a better world.
In my book, I Will Always Be By Your Side, I tell the story of MBelle, a young girl inspired by her aunt, Assumpta, to pursue a career in law. She does not dream of wealth or power—she dreams of justice.

Her father, like many farmers in their community, has been forced to sell his land at unfairly low prices due to the manipulation of local costs by the labour council. This corrupt system has left families struggling to survive, their voices unheard, and their rights ignored.
Witnessing this injustice firsthand, MBelle makes a vow: she will become a lawyer and fight for the rights of her people.
Her journey is one of resilience, determination, and the unwavering belief that one person can make a difference. It is a story that mirrors the struggles faced by so many—Palestinians, marginalized communities, and all those fighting against systems designed to oppress them.
Through MBelle’s eyes, we see that education is a weapon, knowledge is power, and justice is worth fighting for.
Humanity Longs for Happiness and Peace
Despite the chaos, a different future is possible.
Peace is not just the absence of war—it is the presence of justice. And justice begins with people standing up, demanding accountability, and refusing to accept the narratives fed to them by those in power.
Today, as we witness genocide in Palestine, nuclear threats rising, and armed conflicts in Congo and Sudan, we must ask ourselves: Will we continue to be silent?
The future is shaped by human action. No government, political system, or religious institution can bring peace unless the people demand it. Both Islam and Christianity have spoken of dignity, justice, and the sanctity of life—yet, time and again, these ideals have been abandoned for political convenience.
It is time to reclaim them.
Let us act with wisdom and courage to build a world where peace is not just a dream but a reality. A world where the dignity of every human being is upheld. A world where Palestinians, Arabs, and all oppressed people are not forgotten.
The time for silence is over. The time for truth is now.
This newsletter integrates my upcoming book naturally into the broader theme of justice, resistance, and hope.
It makes MBelle’s story a powerful symbol of the struggle for Palestinian rights and human dignity.
Dialogue for “The Lawyer” Special Edition
Serwaa Amihere (Host):

Good evening, viewers, and welcome to this special edition of The Lawyer on Assumpta Weekly News Magazine. Tonight, we delve into a critical discussion—The Silent War: The Betrayal of Justice.

I am Serwaa Amihere, and I am honoured to be joined by my esteemed colleagues—Berla Mundi and Frema Adunyame, two of Ghana’s most brilliant and outstanding broadcast journalists.
Together, we have the privilege of speaking with a woman whose work has ignited crucial conversations on justice, truth, and the responsibility of media—Ms. Assumpta Gahutu. She is the CEO of Assumpta Newsletter Publications and the Principal of Babies and Toddlers DayCare.

Through her writings and advocacy, she has been a powerful voice for the oppressed, particularly in her recent article, The Silent War: The Betrayal of Justice. Ms Gahutu, it is an honour to have you with us.
[The Discussion Begins]

Assumpta Gahutu:
Thank you, Serwaa. It is a pleasure to be here with you, Berla, and Frema. These discussions are vital, especially at a time when truth is under attack.

Frema Adunyame:
Ms. Gahutu, your article opens with a powerful statement: The world stands at a crossroads. It paints a grim picture of global injustice—from Palestine to Sudan and beyond. What inspired you to write this piece?

Assumpta Gahutu:
The ongoing genocide in Palestine, the forced displacement of communities, and the media’s role in distorting the truth—have reached a point where silence is no longer an option.
For too long, global powers have justified war and occupation under the guise of security, while the very people suffering are painted as the aggressors. We see this in Palestine, where Israel’s demolition of homes and forced expulsions are framed as “defensive measures.”
I wanted to challenge this narrative. The media—especially in the West—has become a tool of deception, prioritizing political alliances over truth. My article aims to expose these distortions and remind people that justice should not be selective.

Berla Mundi:
Your article highlights British MP Kit Malthouse’s bold statement questioning whether Palestinians are entitled to the same protections under international law. Do you believe the world has failed to uphold these protections?

Assumpta Gahutu:
Absolutely. The hypocrisy is staggering. We see international outrage when other nations violate human rights, but when it comes to Palestine, those same voices fall silent.
The UN Security Council has passed resolutions, including Resolution 3236, affirming the rights of the Palestinian people to sovereignty and security. Yet, these resolutions remain meaningless when world leaders refuse to enforce them. What Kit Malthouse said was not just a question—it was a challenge. Are we willing to apply international law equally, or will we continue making exceptions for certain powers?

Serwaa Amihere:
Your article also touches on the role of Arab nations. Why has the Arab world failed to unite against these injustices? What do you think has prevented a strong Arab response?

Assumpta Gahutu:
That is a difficult but necessary question. The Arab world has immense political and economic power. Yet, internal divisions, regional conflicts, and strategic interests have prevented a unified stance on Palestine.
Instead of forging alliances that could pressure Western powers and Israel, some Arab leaders have prioritized their diplomatic ties over justice. This lack of unity has allowed oppression to continue unchecked. That being said, I do believe there is hope. The tides are shifting. The younger generation, especially, is demanding accountability from their leaders.
[The Role of Media]

Frema Adunyame:
You are critical of Western media’s portrayal of Palestinian resistance, saying, This is not journalism. This is an assault on truth. How do you think media coverage has shaped public perception?

Assumpta Gahutu:
Western media has perfected the art of controlling narratives. Take The Washington Post, CNN, and BBC—they all use language that distorts reality.
For example, when Israeli forces bomb Palestinian neighbourhoods, the headlines read, that Israel defends itself against Hamas. But when Palestinians resist, it’s called terrorism. This framing manipulates public perception, making the oppressed appear as aggressors. The media has the power to shape global opinion, and right now, it is using that power to justify war crimes.
[Introducing “I Will Always Be By Your Side”]

Berla Mundi:
Ms. Gahutu, your upcoming book, “I Will Always Be By Your Side”, introduces the story of MBelle—a young girl inspired by her aunt to become a lawyer and fight for justice. How does MBelle’s story connect to the themes of your article?

Assumpta Gahutu:
MBelle’s story is deeply personal, yet it reflects a universal struggle. She grows up witnessing injustice in her community—farmers being forced to sell their land at unfair prices due to corrupt economic policies.
Her father’s suffering fuels her determination to become a lawyer, and to fight for the rights of those who have been silenced.
Just like MBelle, Palestinians, Sudanese civilians, and countless others around the world face oppression not because they are weak, but because systems have been designed to exploit them. Through MBelle’s journey, I want to show that resistance does not always come in the form of protests or war—it also comes through knowledge, advocacy, and the pursuit of truth.
[Final Thoughts – The Path Forward]

Serwaa Amihere:
This discussion has been powerful and deeply necessary. As we close, Ms. Gahutu, what is your message to viewers who may feel helpless in the face of such overwhelming injustice?

Assumpta Gahutu:
I want people to understand that silence is complicity. We do not need to be politicians or journalists to make a difference. Every person has a role—whether it’s sharing the truth, challenging misinformation, supporting Palestinian businesses, or holding leaders accountable.
The media may try to bury the truth, but truth has a way of resurfacing. It is up to us to amplify it. Let us refuse to be silent. Let us fight for a world where justice is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.

Frema Adunyame:
Thank you, Ms. Gahutu, for this enlightening conversation. Your work continues to inspire, and we look forward to reading “I Will Always Be By Your Side”.

Berla Mundi:
And to our viewers, the discussion does not end here. Join us on Monday, February 18, 2025, at assumptagh.live/ for more on The Silent War: The Betrayal of Justice.

Serwaa Amihere:
Stay informed, stay engaged, and most importantly—stay on the side of truth.
