Interview: The Power of Culture That Will Unite Americans
Cookieteegh : Good day, Ms. Watson. It’s such an honour to have you with us today for this special edition of Assumpta Weekly Lifestyle Magazine. We’re excited to learn more about your incredible journey as a broker and your vision for a more inclusive and equitable housing market.

Quiana Watson: Good day to you, Cookieteegh. Thank you for the opportunity to share my story. I truly believe that conversations like these are crucial for driving awareness and change.

Cookieteegh: Before we delve deeper into your work, let’s begin with your thoughts on culture. You’ve often been vocal about the importance of housing as a fundamental cultural value. As someone born, raised, and working in America, you’ve also held the government accountable for promoting policies that reflect this cultural necessity. What inspires you to connect culture and housing in this way?

Quiana Watson: Thank you for bringing this up, Cookieteegh. Culture, to me, is the heartbeat of a nation—it’s the foundation of how people live, connect, and thrive. In America, homeownership is deeply embedded in our cultural fabric. It symbolizes stability, prosperity, and the opportunity to build generational wealth.
Unfortunately, over the years, systemic barriers and inadequate policies have turned what should be a cultural norm into an exclusive privilege. My work as a broker is inspired by a commitment to making this cultural ideal—having a home—not just an aspiration but a reality for all, especially middle-class and marginalized communities.
In this sense, housing serves as a cultural wave, uniting people in shared experiences and aspirations. It creates a platform for equity and solidarity, which can ripple through our politics and economy, much like the metaphor you shared.

Cookieteegh: Beautifully said. You’ve also highlighted the role of the government in ensuring that housing policies reflect and promote this cultural unity. What specific changes do you think are needed to make housing more accessible for middle-class citizens?

Quiana Watson:There are several key areas where the government must act. First, we need policies that prioritize affordable housing development, not just for low-income families but also for middle-class households who are increasingly priced out of the market.
Second, we must address predatory lending practices that disproportionately affect Black and Latino families. Transparent and fair mortgage structures are essential.
Finally, the government must invest in community-centred housing projects that promote diversity and inclusivity. This is about more than just building homes—it’s about creating environments where people from all walks of life can coexist and succeed together.

Cookieteegh: Your vision is inspiring, Ms. Watson. It’s clear that your work goes far beyond real estate transactions—it’s about shaping a future where housing is a right, not a privilege. As we close, what message would you like to leave with our readers?

Quiana Watson: Thank you, Cookieteegh. If there’s one message I’d like to share, it’s this: housing is a cornerstone of equality. By working together—across government, private sectors, and communities—we can build a housing market that reflects our shared cultural values of inclusion, fairness, and opportunity.
Every citizen deserves a place to call home. And when we achieve this, we don’t just transform lives—we transform society.

Cookieteegh: Quiana, as we conclude this enlightening discussion, it’s clear that your work as an estate broker is much more than just a career—it’s a movement. You’ve positioned yourself as an actor on a grand stage, advocating for a housing culture that goes beyond the transactional. How would you sum up your mission?
Quiana Watson: Thank you, Cookieteegh. I aim to ensure that housing becomes a cultural cornerstone for all Americans—a right, not a privilege. I believe the government must promote policies that foster inclusivity, eliminate barriers, and empower communities. Housing is not just about having a roof over one’s head; it’s about creating spaces where people can thrive, connect, and build brighter futures.

Cookieteegh: You’ve shown incredible courage in addressing systemic inequalities and advocating for change. How do you see yourself in this larger conversation about housing and social empowerment?

Quiana Watson: I see myself as an actor on the stage of transformation. Housing is often underestimated in its cultural importance, but it holds the key to unity, stability, and prosperity. My role is to challenge outdated systems and inspire action, ensuring that middle-class families—black, White, Latino, and beyond—can access safe, affordable homes.

Cookieteegh: Your vision is inspiring. Before we close, can you leave our readers with one final thought?

Quiana Watson: Of course. Housing is more than bricks and mortar—it symbolises hope and equality. Together, we can create a housing culture that unites us as a nation and lays the groundwork for a better future. This is not just my story; it’s the story of every family striving for a place to call home.

Cookieteegh: Quiana Watson, you truly are “The Great Actor”—a brave ordinary woman fighting for extraordinary change. Thank you for sharing your insights and inspiring us all.

Quiana Watson: Thank you, Cookieteegh. It’s been a pleasure to speak with you and your readers. Let’s keep working together to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Cookieteegh: Thank you, Ms. Watson, for your insights and passion. It’s been a privilege to hear your thoughts and learn about the incredible work you’re doing to empower communities.
