As an African, I know how important it is to provide healthy, nutritious food by incorporating African culture with every fresh ingredient. Because it promotes overall well-being, encourages a balanced diet, highlights diverse culinary traditions, and respects cultural heritage.
My aim is to promote the overall Well-being by incorporating African culture into the food we consume, I want to ensure that Africans have access to healthy and nutritious meals. This is essential for maintaining good physical and mental health. African cuisine often relies on fresh ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, and lean proteins, which are all essential components of a balanced diet.




It is also my aim to encourage a Balanced Diet, Because African cuisine is known for its diversity and emphasis on a variety of food groups. By incorporating African cultural practices with fresh and local ingredients, I am able to create a well-rounded meals that provide the necessary nutrients. This helps to prevent deficiencies and promotes a healthier lifestyle. For example, dishes like jollof rice, injera, or moin moin can incorporate grains, legumes, and vegetables, ensuring a balanced meal.



Highlighting Diverse Culinary Traditions: Africa is a continent with an incredibly rich and diverse culinary heritage. Each region and country within Africa has its own unique flavours, cooking techniques, and ingredients. By incorporating African culture into the preparation and presentation of food, we celebrate this diversity and honour the culinary traditions. It also provides an opportunity for individuals to learn about different cultures and their relationship with food.
Respecting Cultural Heritage: Food is an integral part of African culture, carrying historical significance and cultural values. “Well, it all started from home with my mother, who equipped me with a wide range of African dishes. Through this upbringing, I became aware of the power of combining traditional African culinary practices with fresh and nutritious ingredients. This awareness was further shaped by various experiences and influences. Here are a few possible ways:”
Due to my cultural background, growing up in a household and community where traditional African cooking was highly valued, I developed an appreciation for the flavours, techniques, and ingredients used in African cuisine.
Through pursuing formal culinary training and working in diverse culinary environments, I gained recognition of the significance of traditional African culinary practices and the potential to enhance them with fresh and nutritious ingredients.
With a strong interest in health and wellness, I became aware of the importance of incorporating nutritious ingredients into my cooking. I learned about the benefits of fresh, whole foods and understood how to combine them with traditional African flavours and techniques to create nourishing meals.
