Subtitle: Beyond the Extraction Trap: A Confrontation of Vision, Value, and the path to Industrial Restoration.
Theme : “Why Gwen Addo believes China is the partner of our National Interest”
[Newsletter Summary]
Gwen Addo’s Defiant Stand

When the world-class panel—Giorgia Meloni, Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, and Fremaa Adunyame—pressed Gwen Addo on why she advocates for a pivot toward China, her response was both blunt and historically grounded. She didn’t just answer a question; she issued a National Charge.
“Frema Adunyame questioned Gwen on why engaging with China serves Ghana’s national interest compared to their traditional Western partners.
Gwen’s Response:
“Would I go to America or Europe? No. Not now. This is not the time. We must be honest about the historical threats the West has posed to Ghana’s sovereignty.
We cannot forget February 24, 1966. That was the day Kwame Nkrumah—the man who envisioned an industrialized, Pan-African Ghana—was overthrown in a coup backed by Western intelligence (CIA and MI6). Since that day, for 67 years, we have lived under a ‘Wall Street gambling economy.’
We’ve had decades of leadership that prioritized finance, service industries, and real estate over actually making things. That is the past. And frankly? It’s crap. It didn’t modernize us; it just extracted us.
So, what do we want as Ghanaians? 🇬🇭
- The American ‘Wall Street’ model isn’t building cheap cars for your workers.
- There isn’t a single American company building 5G for your digital future.
- They aren’t building the High-Speed Rail we need to connect our markets.
For decades, we’ve seen the same pattern from British and European cultures: they arrive to extract our gold and diamonds, and in exchange, they tell us to buy their long-range missiles and military hardware. We don’t need more weapons; we need more factories.
China is currently the most powerful manufacturing force in the world. Their interests in infrastructure and industrialization align with the Pan-African dream Nkrumah started. Any leader who engages China with a focus on manufacturing and 5G is a leader with vision.
We have a choice: Do we want an economy built on paper and extraction, or an economy built on Direction and Production? I choose the latter.”
Historical Markers for the Reader 📜
- 1966 Overthrow: The Western-backed coup that stalled Ghana’s industrial drive for half a century.
- Extraction vs. Construction: Comparing the centuries-old colonial ‘extract-and-export’ model with the new ‘build-and-transfer’ model.
- The Tech Gap: Recognizing that in 2026, the tools of the future (5G, Solar, Rail) are increasingly coming from the East.
🔑 Inside This Edition: Featuring Global Perspectives:

- The Warning from Europe: Representing the Western perspective, Meloni brings a sharp eye for national sovereignty and the geopolitical risks of global shift.

- 🇬🇭 DZIGBORDI KWAKU-DOSOO (Global Keynote Speaker & DCG)
- The Human-Centered Strategist: Africa’s premier soft-skills expert and consultant, Dzigbordi focuses on the people—how this deal affects the mindset and dignity of the Ghanaian citizen.

- 📺 FREMAA ADUNYAME (Broadcast Journalist, Channel One TV)
- The Media Battlefield: One of Ghana’s most fearless analysts, Fremaa is here to cut through the political “PR” and get to the hard facts for the man on the street.
The Central Question:

”Gwen on why engaging with China serves Ghana’s national interest compared to their traditional Western partners”
Gwen Addo’s Defense:
In this explosive Monday issue, Gwen addresses the panel with the clarity found in her book Direction:
- To Meloni (Sovereignty): “We aren’t looking for new masters; we are looking for new machinery. China’s saturated economy allows us to negotiate from a position of ‘Supply and Demand’—they have the factories, we have the future.”
- To Dzigbordi (Human Impact): “This isn’t just about GDP; it’s about stopping the ‘Galamsey mentality’ that trades our health for quick cash. We are building a system where a Ghanaian’s talent is matched with industrial tools.”
- To Fremaa (The Facts): “The colonial extraction model is dead. If we don’t pivot to a value-addition economy now, we remain ‘economic fools’ forever. China is the only partner currently willing to transfer the ‘Know-How’ at the scale we need.”

Introduction:
Today is not just another Monday. We are standing at a crossroads that has been 60 years in the making. Since the tragic events of February 24, 1966—the day Ghana’s industrial heartbeat was forcibly silenced in a Western-backed coup—our nation has wandered through a desert of “extraction.” We have sold our gold for paper, our cocoa for pennies, and our future for “stability” that never quite felt like our own. But the era of the “Resource Warehouse” is over.
In this issue, we bring you an explosive, world-first dialogue. We have gathered a panel of global titans to stress-test a vision that is as bold as it is controversial: The Great Pivot toward the East. What happens when the industrial might of a saturated Chinese economy meets the raw potential of the world’s youngest demographic? Can Ghana truly engage with the most powerful manufacturing force on earth without losing its soul?
Our guest, Gwen Addo, isn’t just answering these questions; she is rewriting the rules of the game. Flanked by the sharp geopolitical warnings of Italy’s Giorgia Meloni, the human-centered wisdom of Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, and the fearless media analysis of Fremaa Adunyame, Gwen lays out a roadmap for a Ghana that doesn’t just survive the New World Order, but designs it.
This is a conversation about 5G sovereignty, industrial restoration, and the courage to choose a direction that finally leads us home. Grab your coffee. Open your mind. The Great Pivot begins now.
The Global Dialogue: The Sovereign Summit
Date: Monday, 1st February 2026
Host: Fremaa Adunyame

Fremaa Adunyame: Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to our millions of readers and viewers joining us from every corner of the globe! I am Fremaa Adunyame, and you are tuned into a historic edition of the Owusuwaa Weekly Health Newsletter Magazine.
Today, we are hosting a conversation that transcends borders. We are joined by four extraordinary women who represent the pinnacle of leadership, strategy, and media across two continents.
- From Europe: We are honored to welcome Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Minister of Italy. A leader known for her staunch defense of national sovereignty and her pragmatic approach to European and global geopolitics. 🇮🇹
- From Africa (Ghana): We have Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, a global keynote speaker and the CEO of DCG Consulting Group. She is the world’s leading “Human-Centered Strategist,” helping leaders bridge the gap between technical skill and human soul. 🇬🇭
- From Africa (Ghana): Our primary guest, Gwen Addo. The visionary CEO of The Hair Senta, founder of HIBS Africa, and author of the life-altering book Direction. She is the architect of the “Great Pivot” strategy we are debating today. 🇬🇭
- And I am your host, Fremaa Adunyame, broadcast journalist and analyst for Channel One TV and Citi FM. 📺
Ladies, welcome to this dialogue. It is an honor to have you all.
Fremaa Adunyame: Gwen, I want to start with you in this explosive dialogue. I want you to address this panel and our readers worldwide with the same clarity found in your groundbreaking newsletter article.
To set the stage, the world is shifting. In just this past week, we saw America’s two closest allies make monumental moves: Canada has declared a “new era” of strategic partnership with Beijing, and Britain—under Prime Minister Keir Starmer—has just concluded a massive trip to China to unlock economic opportunities, effectively ending what they called the “ice age” of relations.
Yet, you are calling for Ghana and the entire African continent to absolutely engage with China for our own national interest. Can you elaborate on this vision for our panel and the entire world?

Gwen Addo: Thank you, Fremaa, for this opportunity, and thank you to my fellow panelists. It is a pleasure to be here.
The facts are undeniable. When we look at the West—specifically the U.S. and Europe—we see a history that, for Africa, has been defined by extraction. We cannot forget February 24, 1966. That was the day our visionary leader, Kwame Nkrumah, was overthrown in a coup supported by Western intelligence because his plan for an industrialized, self-sufficient Africa threatened the old world order.
For 60 years since then, we have been stuck in a “Wall Street gambling economy”—focused on services, finance, and real estate. But you cannot build a modernized future on paper and “crap.” You build it by making things.
My vision is simple: The West is currently “closed” to our industrialization; they want us as consumers. But China is “saturated.” They have an overflow of factories, 5G technology, and high-speed rail expertise. Engaging with China isn’t about looking for a new master; it’s about a Strategic Pivot. We need to move their saturated factories onto our soil. We need their 5G to build our digital sovereignty. If Britain and Canada are pragmatically turning to China to save their economies, why should Ghana be the only one left standing in the “ice age” of Western extraction?

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Gwen. That is a powerful opening. Giorgia Meloni, as a leader from Europe who has recently navigated Italy’s own complex relationship with China and the Belt and Road Initiative, what are your thoughts on Gwen’s vision? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Giorgia Meloni: Thank you, Fremaa, for the invitation. It is a pleasure to join such distinguished women.
Gwen, I listen to your words with great respect for your desire for national pride. However, I must offer a warning from the European perspective. Italy was the only G7 nation to join the Belt and Road, and we found that the “industrial overflow” you speak of often comes with a heavy price. It isn’t always a partnership of equals; often, it results in a trade imbalance where the “Direction” is decided in Beijing, not in your home capital.
Sovereignty is fragile. When you invite a giant into your house to build your 5G and your rails, you must ask: who owns the data? Who owns the switch? My view is that true independence comes from “de-risking”—diversifying your partners so you are never dependent on just one, especially one that does not always share your democratic values.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Prime Minister Meloni. That is a vital perspective on the risks of dependency. Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, as a human-centered strategist, you look at how these massive macro-deals affect the individual and the culture. What are your thoughts? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo: Thank you, Fremaa, for having me, and thank you, Giorgia and Gwen, for setting such a high bar.
My view is focused on the “Human Quotient.” Gwen, you talk about moving factories to Ghana, and Giorgia, you talk about the risks of sovereignty. My concern is: Are we ready? Strategy without a prepared soul is just a new form of chaos.
If we pivot to China, we must ensure our youth are not just “labor” for Chinese machines. We need to upgrade the “Soft Power” and technical discipline of our people. If we don’t, we will inherit Chinese technology but remain under Chinese management. My thought is that the “National Interest” must include a massive investment in Human Restoration. We need a mindset shift from “Resource Owners” to “Industrial Masters.” Without that, no matter who we engage with, we will still be positioned inside someone else’s order rather than creating our own.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Dzigbordi. A very profound point on the human element of this pivot.
Gwen, I want to come back to you. You heard the Prime Minister’s warning about “data ownership” and Dzigbordi’s call for “human restoration.” How do we ensure this engagement with China doesn’t just become another 40-year trap? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Gwen Addo: Thank you for that question, Frema. My thoughts are clear: We avoid the trap by changing the nature of the contract. In the past, we signed “Extraction Contracts” (Gold for Dollars). Now, we must sign “Industrialization Contracts” (Minerals for Factories). We tell China: “You want our Lithium? You build the battery factory in Kumasi. You train 5,000 Ghanaian engineers to run it. You install 5G, but the data servers sit in an Accra facility guarded by Ghanaian law.” We aren’t asking for fish; we are taking the boat. This is the Direction Ghana must take. If Britain and Canada can do it with open eyes, Africa can do it with a sovereign.
We aren’t asking for fish; we are taking the boat. This is the Direction Ghana must take. If Britain’s Keir Starmer can fly to Beijing this week to seek “pragmatic cooperation” for the UK, then Ghana has every right to do the same for our own survival.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Gwen, for that incredibly sharp breakdown of “Industrialization Contracts.” You aren’t just asking for a seat at the table; you are redesigning the entire boardroom.
Giorgia Meloni, Gwen has laid down a direct challenge. She notes that even the West’s most traditional pillars—Britain and Canada—are essentially stepping away from the strict “American system” to secure their own survival. Just this past week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer concluded a massive trip to Beijing (January 30, 2026), securing billions in trade and even visa-free travel, signaling a pragmatic end to the “ice age.”
As a Western leader who has championed the Mattei Plan for Africa, how does Europe view this “unauthorized” pivot by its closest allies? And do you believe Africa is right to follow their lead? Can you share your thoughts with us?
Giorgia Meloni’s Response: The Pragmatic Warning 🇮🇹🇪🇺

Giorgia Meloni: Thank you, Frema, for such a piercing question. My appreciation to Gwen as well for grounding this in the current reality of London and Ottawa.
My facts are these: The moves you see from London and Canada are not “unauthorized,” but they are certainly a symptom of a fracturing global order. In Europe, we are watching closely. Just last week, I spoke with Prime Minister Starmer and Prime Minister Carney. My view is that they are not “leaving” the West; they are diversifying out of necessity because the old “Wall Street” models—what Gwen calls the gambling economy—are no longer providing the industrial security we need. 🇮🇹🛡️
However, as a European leader, my thought is one of Caution. Gwen says, “We are taking the boat.” That is a bold vision. But in Italy, we have learned that when you take a boat built by a giant, you must check who holds the remote control for the engine.
My thoughts on Gwen’s “Minerals-for-Factories” demand are twofold:
- The Sovereignty Trap: When Britain signs a deal with Beijing, they do so with a massive legal and military infrastructure to protect their interests. When Ghana signs a 40-year “long-tail” commitment for 5G, does Ghana have the Technological Sovereignty to ensure that “Accra facility” isn’t a Trojan horse?
- The Mattei Plan Alternative: Italy’s model is different. We don’t want to “mortgage your options.” Our plan focuses on Energy and Education—building the roots so that you don’t need to pivot to a single powerhouse. We believe in a multipolar world where Africa is a pillar, not a prize to be won by the East.
Gwen, I admire your “Direction.” But my view remains: If you pivot too fast toward a saturated power like China, you may find that you haven’t escaped “extraction”—you have simply changed the currency of your debt. Europe’s view is that we should build a “New Pact among Free Nations” that respects the “right not to migrate” by building real, sustainable dignity at home.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Prime Minister. “Checking the remote control for the engine”—that is a visual we won’t soon forget. Thank you for that insight.
Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, the Prime Minister raises a vital point about the “Technological Sovereignty” and the legal infrastructure needed to protect these deals. Gwen wants the boat now, while Giorgia suggests building the roots first. From a human-centered perspective, can we handle the speed of Gwen’s pivot? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo: Thank you for the opportunity, Frema. And thank you, Giorgia, for that very grounded European perspective.
My view is that Gwen is right about the urgency, but Giorgia is right about the infrastructure. My facts are focused on the Human Quotient. For decades, we have been “extracted” not just of our gold, but of our confidence. If we pivot to China tomorrow and build ten factories in Kumasi, but our people are still operating with a “laborer” mindset rather than a “leader” mindset, we haven’t actually moved the needle.
My thought is this: We cannot handle the speed of Gwen’s pivot if we don’t simultaneously engage in Human Restoration. We need to bridge the gap between “having the boat” and “knowing how to navigate the storm.” We need a generation of Ghanaians who don’t just work in the factory, but who own the patents inside it. If we don’t upgrade the human software, the Chinese hardware will eventually just become another monument to our dependency.

Frema Adunyame: Thank you, Dzigbordi. “Upgrading the human software”—that is the missing link in so many of our national debates. Thank you.
Gwen Addo, you’ve heard the room. Giorgia is worried about the “remote control” of the engine, and Dzigbordi is worried about the “mindset of the sailors.” Do you believe that by engaging China, we are actually gaining the tools to build our own “remote” and train our own “sailors” faster than we could with the West? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Gwen Addo: Thank you, Frema. And I appreciate the candor from both Giorgia and Dzigbordi.
My response is a matter of National Survival. My facts are these: The West has had 60 years—since the 1966 overthrow—to help us build those “roots.” Instead, we got structural adjustment programs and debt. My view is that the China pivot provides the Industrial Catalyst we need to force that human restoration Dzigbordi speaks of.
When you have a high-speed rail being built, you must train the engineers. When you have a 5G network to manage, you must develop the data scientists. We use the Eastern partnership as a pressure cooker for Ghanaian excellence. We don’t wait to be “ready” to be free; we use the tools of the powerful to make ourselves ready. If Britain is pragmatic enough to fly to Beijing to save their economy this week, Ghana must be bold enough to do the same to build ours.

Frema continued : Gwen, I want to turn back to you. We are living in a week where the traditional “Western Wall” is cracking. Britain’s Keir Starmer has just landed back from Beijing after securing a “comprehensive strategic partnership” (January 29, 2026), and Canada’s Mark Carney has just hailed a “new world order” roadmap with China (January 16, 2026) to protect their economy from US tariff pressures.
You’ve heard the Prime Minister’s warning. She asks, “Who owns the data? Who owns the switch?” And I’ve asked you how we avoid being “coded” into a future we didn’t write. Gwen, how do we pivot without becoming a digital colony? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Gwen Addo: Thank you, Fremaa. And thank you, Giorgia, for that very necessary warning.
My facts are these: In 2026, the “switch” is already being held by someone else. Currently, Africa’s data sits on servers in Virginia or Dublin. Our financial systems run on rails we don’t own. My view is that the pivot to China is our chance to build our own switch.
Frema’s point about the “long-tail” 40-year contracts: We must stop being passive signers. My “Direction” blueprint requires three surgical moves:
- The ‘Technical Literacy’ Shield: We must stop sending only politicians to these negotiations. We need a “Sovereignty Taskforce” of data scientists and industrial lawyers who read the technical legalese of these 40-year clauses. We must refuse any deal that doesn’t include a Re-negotiation Trigger every 10 years to account for AI and tech shifts.
- Trading Minerals for ‘In-Country’ Infrastructure: Africa holds the lithium and cobalt that power the world’s AI. My view is simple: No raw minerals leave Ghana. If a partner wants our lithium for their batteries, they must build the refinery and the battery factory here in Ghana. We don’t want a “supply commitment”; we want an “Industrial Partnership” where the “Know-How” is transferred to our youth.
- Ownership of the Demographic Data: Fremaa mentioned that the US uses technology to understand our behavior better than we do. By using Chinese hardware (like 5G) to build Ghanaian-coded software, we create a firewall. We use their tools to build our house.
We must stop being the “Resource Warehouse” and become the “Global Laboratory.” If Britain and Canada are moving toward China to protect their national interests from “economic coercion,” Ghana must do the same to protect its future.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Gwen. That is a defiant and clear strategy for technical literacy. I want to acknowledge that point—if we don’t read the fine print, we are indeed “signing away the future.”Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, Gwen is talking about “Sovereignty Taskforces” and “Industrial Partnerships.” As a strategist who focuses on the human soul and mindset, do you think our current leadership and youth are ready to handle such high-level technical negotiations? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo: Thank you for the opportunity, Fremaa. And thank you, Gwen, for that blueprint.
My view is that we are technically capable but culturally unaligned. We have brilliant engineers in the diaspora and at home, but they are often excluded from the “boardrooms” where these 40-year deals are signed. My thought is that the “Pivot” must first be an Internal Pivot. We need to restore the confidence of the Ghanaian professional.
If we are to negotiate with a giant like China, our “Taskforce” must have the same “soft power” and mental discipline as their counterparts. We cannot negotiate 5G infrastructure with a “Galamsey mindset” that looks for a quick commission. We need a Human-Centered Restoration where our leaders see themselves as the equals of those across the table. Without that “Direction” of the soul, we will just be highly-skilled people signing our own death warrants in a different language.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Dzigbordi. “Direction of the soul”—that is a powerful phrase to bring into this. Giorgia Meloni, Dzigbordi mentions “Soft Power” and Gwen mentions “Technical Shields.” You lead a nation that is currently implementing the Mattei Plan for Africa, which you’ve described as a non-predatory model. After hearing Gwen’s “Direction” blueprint, do you think Europe is ready to compete with the “Industrial Partnerships” China is offering? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Giorgia Meloni: Thank you, Fremaa. And thank you, Gwen, for being so direct. Facts are the only way we move forward.
My facts are these: Italy’s Mattei Plan, which we have officially linked with the EU’s Global Gateway, is already moving in this direction. Just this past October, we hosted the “Green Industrialization in Africa” summit where we committed to moving Italian expertise in steel, cement, and renewable energy directly into African clusters. We are currently backing the Lobito Corridor—a massive rail project that isn’t just about moving minerals to the coast, but about integrating agricultural value chains and local manufacturing along the way. 🇮🇹🏗️
My view, however, is that “Minerals-for-Factories” is a beautiful slogan, but the reality of the global market is fierce. If Italy builds a factory in Ghana, we do it within a framework of reciprocal legal transparency. We don’t just “give” technology; we co-create. My thought is that while China offers speed, Europe offers Sustainability. We won’t just build a factory that pollutes your rivers; we build “Green Industry.”
Gwen, my question to you is: Can you guarantee that the Chinese model won’t leave you with “Ghost Factories” once the minerals are gone? We in Europe prefer a slower, deeper root system. We want a “New Pact among Free Nations,” not a 40-year mortgage to a single manufacturer.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Prime Minister. “Green Industry” versus “Fast Industry”—that is a critical distinction. Thank you for that insight. Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, you’ve heard of the Prime Minister. She’s offering a “slower, deeper root system” through the Mattei Plan, while Gwen is pushing for the rapid, saturated industrial might of China. From a human perspective, which of these models actually restores the dignity of the Ghanaian worker? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo: Thank you for the opportunity, Frema. And thank you, Giorgia, for clarifying the European stance.
My view is that the “dignity” doesn’t come from the builder; it comes from the Owner. Whether the factory is Italian-green or Chinese-fast, if the Ghanaian worker is still just a “hired hand” without the soft skills to manage the C-suite, the result is the same: Alienation. My facts are that 24% of the Mattei Plan initiatives are focused on Education and Training. This is where my thought aligns: We must prioritize Capacity Building. Gwen’s “Technical Literacy Shield” is perfect, but we must apply it to every partner. We shouldn’t choose between Europe or China based on who gives us the shiny toys first; we should choose based on who allows us to master the toys.
If China is willing to let us “own the switch” as Gwen suggests, then we go there. If Italy is willing to “co-create” without the old colonial arrogance, then we go there. The national interest is not a choice between East or West; it is a choice to Stop Being the Servant.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Dzigbordi. “Stop being the servant.” That should be the headline of this summit.
Gwen, the Prime Minister mentioned the Mattei Plan and the Lobito Corridor as “non-predatory” Western alternatives. Why do you still believe the China pivot is more urgent? Is it about the scale, or is it about the “Wall Street” threat you mentioned earlier? Can you share your thoughts with us?

Gwen Addo: Thank you, Fremaa. My appreciation to both Giorgia and Dzigbordi.
My facts are simple: Time is a luxury Ghana does not have. The Mattei Plan is 5.5 billion Euros for an entire continent. China’s industrial saturation is in the Trillions. 💰📈 While I respect the “Green Industry” approach, the West’s history in Africa is one of Sanctions and Conditions. If we don’t align with their specific political values, the “switch” gets turned off anyway.
China doesn’t ask us to be like them; they ask us to trade with them. By engaging with the most powerful manufacturing country in the world, we get the 5G hardware we need now to stop the “Wall Street” data extraction. As Frema noted, the US already knows our demographics better than we do. We need to cut that cord today. We mingle with the most powerful to become powerful ourselves not fools.

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you, Gwen. Ladies, we are approaching the final segment of this explosive dialogue.
Thank you so much, Prime Minister Meloni. “Slower, deeper roots” versus “Fast Industry”—the world is listening, and the contrast couldn’t be clearer.
Ladies, this has been an extraordinary exchange. We have debated the 1966 legacy, the threat of the “Wall Street” gambling economy, and the fierce urgency of the “Minerals-for-Factories” mandate. We have heard the warnings from Europe and the human-centered strategy for African restoration.
As we bring this historic summit to a close, I want to ask each of you for your final, 30-second “National Interest” statement for our readers worldwide.

Giorgia Meloni: Thank you, Fremaa. My final thought is this: Italy stands ready with the Mattei Plan to be a partner in co-creation. My facts show that true sovereignty is not bought with speed, but with the sustainability of your institutions. My view is that you should never trade your freedom for a factory. Choose partners who respect your borders as much as your minerals. Thank you for this vital dialogue.

Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo: Thank you for the opportunity, Fremaa. My final thought is that the “Great Pivot” must start within. My facts are that no technology can save a nation with a broken soul. My view is that whether we look East or West, we must first look at our own mirrors. We must be Industrial Masters in our minds before we can be masters of our soil. Thank you to this incredible panel.

Gwen Addo: Thank you, Frema. My final word is simple: The time for “playing safe” is over. My facts are that Britain and Canada have already moved; they have chosen their interest. My view is that Ghana must do the same. We mingle with the powerful to build our own power. We take the 5G, we build the factories, and we reclaim the Direction that was stolen from us 60 years ago.
As of today, January 31, 2026, it has been 59 years, 11 months, and 7 days since Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown.
The coup d’état, famously code-named “Operation Cold Chop,” took place on February 24, 1966. In just a few weeks—on February 24, 2026—Ghana will mark the 60th anniversary of that pivotal moment in history. It is time to make things. Thank you.
Closing Remarks

Fremaa Adunyame: Thank you to our distinguished panel: Giorgia Meloni, Dzigbordi Kwaku-Dosoo, and Gwen Addo. Your brilliance today has provided a roadmap for a new generation. To our readers worldwide, this has been:
THE SOVEREIGN SUMMIT: GHANA’S GLOBAL CHOICE
Beyond the Extraction Trap: A Confrontation of Vision, Value, and the Path to Industrial Restoration.
We hope this dialogue has challenged your perspective and ignited a new sense of direction for our continent. The “Great Pivot” is not just a policy; it is a choice to own our future. Stay Healthy. Stay Visionary. Stay Sovereign.
I am Fremaa Adunyame. Thank you.

In a world that calls for greater empathy, Babies & Toddlers Daycare begins at the very start. We cultivate a vibrant community where diversity is celebrated, and dialogue is our most cherished tool for growth.
Our Core Pillars
- 🌱 Creativity: We unlock every child’s potential through the magic of arts, purposeful play, and a deep connection with nature.
- ❤️ Character: We center our teaching on the importance of kindness, empathy, and a profound respect for all life.
- 💪 Confidence: We focus on building the inner strength and resilience your child needs to face any challenge with a confident smile.
Why Choose Us?
We believe in a balanced foundation. Enroll your child in a preschool that values their happiness and well-being just as much as their academic milestones.
