The song ( CASE ) By Mr Drew
And about how he communicated in Twi, one of the widely spoken languages in Ghana was.
Mr Drew I believe uses the song to express his feelings and thoughts. He sings in Twi because it is his native language and he is proud of his culture and identity.
He also wants to reach out to Ghanaians and his audience who speak and understand Twi, and make them feel connected to his message and emotions.
The song ‘Case’ is simple but full of feeling, and resonates deeply with most Ghanaians.

Mr Drew
The song ( Case ) is a love song that tells the story of a couple who are facing challenges and obstacles in their relationship, but they are determined to overcome.
The song “Description” by Mr Drew featuring Mophty does indeed revolve around a romantic theme. The lyric mentioned, “why you treat him bad,” suggests that the song explores the dynamics of a romantic relationship where one person is not treating the other well.

TSASI
Indeed. The song has a catchy hook and a groovy beat that made it appealing to me.

Mr Drew
In fact, an example of my experience that resonates meaning is when you listen to the song ‘Case’ it touches your heart and makes you feel connected to the story.

TSASI
Really the song resonates with my emotions, the messages and the lesson that the song conveys.

Mr Drew
You did feel the song reflects your life, your own struggle, your own dreams or your own values right?

TSASI
Well, I felt inspired, moved, challenged and comforted by the song. I felt that the song speaks to me on a personal level and helped me understand myself better.

Mr Drew
For instance, some people might resonate with the recent song by Amerado called ‘Kwaku Ananse,’ which is a viral TiKTok sound that he released as a full song on September 8,2023.
The song is an Afrobeat song that tells the story of Kwaku Ananse, a popular character in Ghanaian folklore who is known for his cunning and trickery. The song uses irony and sarcasm to describe the singer’s life and challenges, as well as his pride and identity.

TSASI
I think Amerado’s recent song is a very creative and impressive work. He has shown his talent and skill as a rapper and a storyteller. He has also shown his culture and identity as a Ghanaian. He has used Kwaku Ananse as a metaphor for his own life and challenges, as well as his own dreams and aspirations.
He has made a song that resonates with me and I can relate to his message and emotions. He has made a song that is fun and enjoyable to listen to.
I hope this helps us understand when songs are used in Twi to communicate with us.

Mr Drew
Thank you for sharing that information. Akan is a language spoken by related peoples in mainly Ghana and eastern Côte d’Ivoire. Akan belongs to the Kwa branch of the Niger-Congo language family.
Akan comprises three main mutually intelligible dialects: Fante, Asante Twi and Akuapem Twi. Asante Twi is the widely used dialect in Ghana
I find Akan language very interesting and beautiful. I would love young Ghanaian singers to use Twi language in communicating with the people, learn more about it and its culture in our Twi proverb books and story books.

TSASI
Do you speak Akan or any of its dialects? If you do, can you teach me some basic phrases or words? If you don’t, I would ike to teach you some?

Thank you. That is nice of you.
