SECURING THE FOUNDATION VOL,1
IN other words: Did the three generals intentionally conspire to assassinate Nkrumah so that children born afterwards would grow up in a corrupted nation?
As you know, Nichiren Daishonin states that we voluntarily choose to be born in evil circumstances so that we may help others; “In other words, we deliberately made the negative causes that destined us to be born into this defiled age so that we could help all living beings become truly happy.

NANA-KWAME:
It seems like you are referring to a perspective from Nichiren Buddhism that suggests individuals may choose to be born into challenging circumstances to help others. This concept is linked to the idea of using one’s experiences to benefit the well-being of all beings.
“Do you think politicians across Africa should attentively consider such issues and work diligently to devise effective solutions?”

TSASI:
Certainly, politicians in Africa and around the world could benefit from considering such perspectives that emphasise using personal challenges to help others. Empathy, understanding, and a commitment to serving the well-being of all individuals could lead to more effective and compassionate solutions to various societal issues.
GOOD AND RIGHT MUST ALWAYS WIN;

NANA-KWAME:
Why is it that Kwame Nkrumah who was a good leader was persecuted?

TSASI:
“I, General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka, along with my fellow generals, aim to overthrow Kwame Nkrumah and place my name on the Kotoka International Airport, feigning enjoyment. The other generals, like General Akwasi Amankwaa Afrifa and General Joseph Arthur Ankrah, have pledged their support in toppling a virtuous leader. Kwame Nkrumah’s persecution stemmed from his goodness and righteousness. The relevance of your question extends to contemporary African leaders, remaining as crucial today as it has been historically.”

NANA-KWAME:
How many countries and territories in Africa are currently engaged in conflict?

TSASI:
“In an alarming report released by the Africa Center for Strategic Studies on August 22, 2023, it was revealed that African conflicts have displaced over 40 million people, marking a continuous upward trend in forced displacement over the past decade.” So many countries wage war today because of poverty, ideological differences, ethnic conflicts and a host of other problems.

NANA-KWAME:
“That is why representatives of any government group in particular should never overlook even a single cry for help from the people.”
Are there any other problems besides poverty ideologies?

TSASI:
Yes, in addition to poverty, there are numerous other social and economic issues that impact Africans and their communities around Africa. Some of these problems include:
1. Inequality: Disparities in income, education, healthcare, and access to resources lead to widespread inequality. These inequalities often perpetuate cycles of poverty and limit opportunities for social and economic mobility.

2. Discrimination and social injustice: Societal biases based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and other factors contribute to discrimination and social injustice, leading to unequal treatment and opportunities for marginalised groups.
3. Environmental degradation: The degradation of natural resources, pollution, climate change, and loss of biodiversity threaten the health of ecosystems and have far-reaching consequences for human well-being and sustainable development.
4. Access to healthcare: Disparities in access to quality healthcare and health services contribute to health inequalities, leading to preventable illness and suffering in many communities.
5. Education disparities: Inadequate access to quality education and resources hinders the development and potential of individuals, perpetuating cycles of poverty and limiting opportunities for social and economic advancement.

6. Political instability and corruption: Political instability, authoritarianism, and corruption undermine democratic processes, hinder economic development, and contribute to social unrest and conflict.
Addressing these problems requires comprehensive and coordinated efforts from governments, organisations, and individuals to promote equitable opportunities, social justice, environmental sustainability, and the well-being of all members of society.

NANA-KWAME
“Is there a fundamental solution to these problems, though?”

TSASI:
The fundamental solution to these problems lies in the determined prayers of the African citizens themselves. Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism teaches that the mind encompasses the entire universe. When we change our innermost state of mind, our whole being changes, and this affects the world in which we live.
This is the teaching of :”The oneness of life and its environment, and the principle of a single life-moment possessing three thousand realms.

NANA-KWAME:
What does this mean?

TSASI:
First of all, prayer means: The consistent thought in one’s mind.
The concept of the power of prayer and the interconnectedness of the individual and the environment is a central theme in Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. The teaching of “The oneness of life and its environment, and the principle of a single life-moment possessing three thousand realms” emphasises the deep connection between one’s inner state of mind and the external world.
According to this teaching, the mind is not separate from the surrounding environment; rather, it encompasses the entire universe. By transforming one’s innermost state of mind through prayer and introspection, individuals can effect positive change within themselves and in the world around them.
In the context of addressing the challenges faced by African citizens, the belief in the power of determined prayers suggests that when individuals cultivate a positive and compassionate state of mind, it can lead to broader positive changes in their communities and the world at large. This approach underscores the importance of personal transformation and the ripple effect it can have on the collective well-being of society.
By embracing the teaching of interconnectedness and the power of inner change, individuals are encouraged to take responsibility for their inner lives and contribute to the greater harmony and well-being of the world. This perspective emphasises the potential for individual actions, rooted in a positive and determined state of mind, to create meaningful and lasting impacts within communities and the broader environment.

NANA-KWAME
This means that Africans themselves must have a compassionate heart?

TSASI:
Yes, embracing the teaching of interconnectedness and the power of inner change suggests that Africans, like anyone else, can contribute to positive transformations by cultivating compassionate hearts and taking responsibility for their inner lives. This perspective emphasises the impact of individual actions on the well-being of communities and the broader environment.

The historical events surrounding the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah and the subsequent naming of the Kotoka International Airport highlight the complexities and challenges in African political history. It serves as a reminder of the importance of addressing injustice and wrongdoing to protect the well-being of African nations. Challenging such issues becomes crucial in securing the correct path of faith in each other and the country, fostering a sense of unity and justice. The historical context of the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah, symbolised by the naming of Kotoka International Airport, raises questions about the intentions and consequences of political actions. The suggestion of a deliberate conspiracy to assassinate Nkrumah, impacting the future generations growing up in a potentially corrupted nation, underscores the need to challenge injustice and wrongdoing. By acknowledging and addressing such historical complexities, we emphasise the importance of safeguarding the foundation for a just and united future. Thank you for joining us in this exploration. Till the next episode, take care.
